Synopsis This course focuses on the fundamental theory and real applications of dispatch and control of electric power systems. Main content includes the basic of electric power systems, automatic generation control (AGC) of generators, frequency control of grid, area voltage control, advanced control methods of electric power systems. The course is suitable for graduate students, especially for students who is engaged in or will be engaged in the study of electric power systems. The establishment of the course will reinforce the modelling, optimization and control theory of graduate students, and helps to broaden students' horizons. Outcomes The learning goals associated with this unit are to: lmaster the basic of electric power systems; lmaster the principle of frequency and voltage control; lmaster the principle of several advanced control methods of electric power systems; lunderstand the real application of frequency and voltage control methods.
